SEO - Search Engine Optimisation

With more websites and more competition adding to the World Wide World every day Search Engine Optimisation is now more important than ever before.  With so much overcrowding and competition for top placements on the major search engines we continually research search engine optimisation to ensure our websites are reaching their full potential to gain you extra business.

There is a relationship between website design and search engine optimization.  Web design is not just about creating the best looking websites.  What is the point in having a great looking website if no one ever sees it? Therefore when we build our sites we have your desired keywords in mind right from the beginning and will make sure they are strategically created to perform with your customers’ searches.

Not only do we offer SEO as part of our web design package but we also offer search engine optimisation consultancy to existing sites. We would do a full health check analysis of your website then give you a report of the changes that should be made to obtain better search engine recognition. This would include analysis of your competitors, advice on alternative phrases, meta tag advice, content refining and website structure advice.

If you already have a website but want more traffic and don't see your sites listed in search engines then give us a call on 01536 713834 or Email Us now for a quote.

Pay Per Click

Pay per click (PPC) is basically paying search engines to list your website link for specific keywords that you specify. This is normally done only when you need to be found for highly competitive search terms and getting high ranking on the searching is difficult due to the quantity of other sites listed for the search term.

These paid listing 'Sponsored Links' appear above or by the side of the normal search results 'natural listing'. The cost of having Sponsored links depends on the competition for the term and can range from 4p up to £10+, these charges however are only paid once a user chooses to visit your site by clicking your advert.

We generally aim to optimise your site to appear as high as possible in the natural listings so visitors from the search engines are free of charge but if we/you feel a PPC campaign is required due to the competitiveness of your industry we can set this up for you or offer advice for you to control it yourself.

Search Engine & Web Directory Submissions

There are thousands of search engines online but Google serves around 80% of all searches over the Internet. All search engines use different techniques to match sites with user searches but we focus specifically to ensure good placement on Google as the highest priority. However we will also submit your website to all the other major search engines and our methods should also provide good performance in other search engines including Yahoo, Microsoft Live Search (formerly MSN) , Ask.com, AOL, AltaVista, Lycos and Netscape. We submit your website to these engines manually to ensure they get indexed.

PageRank is a method used by Google to assign a numerical value to a website, this offers an indicator to the importance of a website, although a high PageRank doesn't guarantee your site will perform well in search engines, if your site is well optimised a higher PageRank will also help push your site up the listings. Google describes PageRank as : (http://www.google.com/technology/)

PageRank relies on the uniquely democratic nature of the web by using its vast link structure as an indicator of an individual page's value. In essence, Google interprets a link from page A to page B as a vote, by page A, for page B. But, Google looks at more than the sheer volume of votes, or links a page receives; it also analyses the page that casts the vote. Votes cast by pages that are themselves ‘important’ weigh more heavily and help to make other pages ‘important.’

Therefore PageRank is generated by having other websites linking to your site, and having sites related to a search term helps even more for your position against the specific search term. Therefore it's equally important that your site is optimised but that time is also spent getting inbound links to your site as it could be a deciding factor that places you above a competitor with a similar website.

When we build our sites we manually submit your site to around 100 online directories to help give you links and also ask that you try to pursue connections with other websites to generate links. Not only will these links help your search engine positions but they should also increase your traffic from people on their sites. Not only do we submit your site to online directories but we also advertise your website within the town websites we run shown below.
